Carmelo Anthony returned from a two-game hiatus due to a sprained ankle as the Knicks hosted the rival Nets at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night. Melo showed no ill effects from the ankle, scoring early and often. And in the second quarter Anthony broke out the crossover dribble on Gerald Wallace. New York led by four at the break but Deron Williams rallied the Nets in the third. Brooklyn's point-guard finished with 16 points and 10 assists. However, he was no match for the big star from Manhattan. Anthony netted a game-high 31 on 12-of-22 shooting in New York's 100-86 victory. The Nets have now lost three straight.
